Fugazi is a band from Washington D.C. They played their first show in the fall of 1987 and since then they have released 5 albums and toured the world extensively covering all 50 United States, Europe, Australia, South America, Japan and many points in between. The band is self managed and release all their material through Dischord Records, an independent label founded by Ian MacKaye and partner Jeff Nelson in 1980. The band maintains a policy of affordable access to their work through low record and ticket prices and all concerts are all-ages. Going into their 11th year together, the band plan to release a new album called "End Hits" in the Spring of 1998. It is composed of 13 songs the group recorded over a series of sessions between tours during 1997. Fugazi is also nearing completion of a documentary film in collaboration with independent filmmaker Jem Cohen. The feature length project will contain footage shot in a variety of formats over the last 10 years combining concert, tour and studio material combined with musical soundtrack by the band unique to the movie. No release date is set.

The music played by FUGAZI can be labelled "Fugazi". I mean it's unique taking into consideration all the aspects such as: music, lyrics, band members behaviour. It's a mixture of punk rock, new wave and hard core. The guys mastered their own style of playing. It's easy to distinguish FUGAZI from thousands of other independent bands. They are purely indepenedent and they have never sold out.
