In January 1976, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss and Ace Frehley were very enthusiastic about recording a new material at New York City's Record Plant. They were under gentle pressure because their previous album called "Alive!" was very successful. It was even awarded Gold record (over half of a million copies of it had been sold). So, KISS had to meet the expectations of the fans who were very proud of all their four earlier albums. Eventually, it was certain that "Destroyer" (a record number 5 in a row) would be both an exceptional and a famous piece of music. The opening song Detroit Rock City is one of the best tough music tracks that has been ever recorded. But the whole LP is also one of the best in KISS career. Surprisingly, the only sentimental song on the LP called Beth, which was composed by the drummer - Peter Criss, had become a great hit. The female fans were especially attracted to it.
